Hi, I have buyed your plugin. This is my website: http://chefclub.it/
The theme is a customized version of TwentyTwelve.

1) The problem with the FB-Like is this: When you open the lightbox photo and click like, the wall in facebook don't show anything.
2) The problem with the FB-Comment is this: When you open the lightbox photo and make a comment, with the "post on facebook", the comment is posted but the link is like this: http://chefclub.it/wp-content/gallery/catering/485385_10151608877178033_358386674_n.jpg
This is the photo link without the graphic of the website.

Try please and let me know.

Thanks

Do you have Social Gallery Pages enabled? And do you have your own Facebook App ID?

of course. both.

I was experiencing an issue that setting one's FB App ID in the intended field doesn't work properly. I propose the following:
1. In the admin panel, go to Design -> Editor
2. Search for header.php in the right bar.
3. Add <meta property="fb:app_id" content="yourappid" /> somewhere between the <head></head> tag.

For further information open an image with Social Gallery and (being logged in as the administrator) go to "settings" (on the right when you have the lightbox opened). At the bottom there is a link to the object debugger on facebook. This may help you, too.
Please post if this helped! :)

Could you post what you see if you open the facebook settings found on the right side when the lightbox is open. See here (http://benthies.de/tmp/sshot.png).

@Deepabysm thanks for helping on this

@nemedh "Help me pleaese. I have buyed a plugin and it dont work :-(" the plugin DOES work, you're just struggling to get it to work. It's a complicated bit of kit and does need some care in setting up making sure everything is running OK.

I use it over on my site (epicplugins) and it works a CHARM it's amazing. The fact you cannot get it to work is just that it needs a bit more TLC

As deep has mentioned, this is because you don't have your Facebook app ID and or Facebook user ID in the settings.

Under General and Admin ID put the ID from here: http://findmyfacebookid.com/ (i.e. your own facebook user ID).

For the App itself, you need to set one up on https://developers.facebook.com/ and ensure that the site URL etc match the domain you have SG installed on (apologies if you've done all this).

It should work when you have all that setup.

No sorry.
In facebook I am the admin of the app: https://www.dropbox.com/s/un1jfwi1za5mo7w/1-admin.png
I have create the right app in FB: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zsaas3ogpwm5xvn/2-id.png
In social gallery I have put the correct APP ID FB: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1vn83g4z62pf64e/3-active.png

What I did of wrong?

If I were you, I'd blacken the App Secret out!
However, you need to set your Admin CSV on the general settings page (see here (https://www.dropbox.com/s/c01bveshuqiemip/fb.png)). As Mike already posted, you can look up your Admin CSV http://findmyfacebookid.com/ <- here! After you found it out, just paste it in the settings field for it!

Ok now I have set the Admin CSV but the problems are the same:

1) The problem with the FB-Like is this: When you open the lightbox photo and click like, the wall in facebook don't show anything.
2) The problem with the FB-Comment is this: When you open the lightbox photo and make a comment, with the "post on facebook", the comment is posted but the link is like this: http://chefclub.it/wp-content/galler...58386674_n.jpg

In case you have set your admin csv, you should now be able to go to the facebook settings site of the lightbox (I posted a screen of which settings site I mean before). If so, you should have access to a link to the facebook object debugger. If not, you may have misconfigured something.

That's because it's linking back to the image change the fallback to a different setting if you don't want to show the image (# is a good choice).

I have this problem too. I cannot see the Facebook settings in the lower right corner of the lightbox and my Facebook admin ID is correct. Anything else I should check ?

My problem is that when I like some picture from the lightbox, it won't appear on facebook at all. I checked the "all activity" area to see if the pictures I liked on the lightbox came up, but they didn't

My comments made in the lightbox comes up on the "all activity" area by the way.

I also added the fallback url to the hash Index#, but when I clicked the link from Facebook to look at the picture a different picture came up, but maybe thats because I'm using the nextgen gallery widget on the frontpage to show random 3 pictures ?

UPDATE: Now the settings icon in the lower right seem to have appeared and it says I have to correct one error: (it appears randomly, most of the time not)

Specified: Object at URL 'http://www.truckstop24.no/bilder/' of type 'article' is invalid because it specifies multiple 'og:url' values: http://www.truckstop24.no/bilder/, .

Full error report here (if you can see it) https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.truckstop24.no%2Fbilder% 2F%3Falbum%3Dall%26gallery%3D1%23sg8
What does that mean ?

Okay, well I had to create a new facebook app to make it work. Its now posting to my facebook wall when I comment, but I need to manually post the comment to my wall from the lightbox after I wrote the comment. Is there a way to make it publish automatic after I click the blue "comment" button ?

And I cannot make this work with the hashtag ID. Only the image URL

mikemayhem3030
04-22-2013, 09:51 PM
The manually post it to your wall is a facebook thing to protect against spam (usually it will give you a tick box on the comment for "post to facebook").

It's to stop people using the social plugin in bad ways

Mike

Hey, yeah I got rid of it somehow now, but I still have serious problems to get this to work as it does on your demo site. It was for a few mins that the comments worked, but not anymore. The likes dont appear on facebook either. To use that new page function that came in v2, is that the Page URL in the Fallback menu ? Cause when I use that I get the same comment and likes on all the pictures.

No matter what combo I use the comments and/or likes never appear on facebook. Neither the facebook setting icon appears inside the lightbox.

Should I delete all and do a re-install of this plugin ?

What does that mean ?

In this case, look up what the facebook crawler sees (the link to it should be somewhere on the debug page). You'll probably see two tags looking similar to <meta property="og:url" content="yourwebsite.com">. If so, you probably have to delete one of the lines out of your header file in your theme. Can you link the crawler thing maybe?

It says there's more than one <og:url> it will be there somewhere in your page / plugins. It could be that another plugin adds it to the head

Please do review your other plugins so you're only using one instance.

aero
04-22-2013, 10:20 PM
Okay, seems like Nextgen adds it so how can I remove it from there ?

mikemayhem3030
04-22-2013, 10:22 PM
Check out the NextGen settings see if it's an option to untick or contact the nextgen guys / search the nextgen forums to see if they give a way to do it

aero
04-22-2013, 10:25 PM
first lets try and just deactivate the whole plugin

aero
04-22-2013, 10:49 PM
don't think its the nextgen either. Have to be this crappy theme I got

aero
04-22-2013, 11:03 PM
Its gone now, but still get this error Object at URL 'http://www.truckstop24.no/' of type '' is invalid because the given value '' for property 'og:url' could not be parsed as type 'url'.

aero
04-22-2013, 11:13 PM
is this really the reason why nothing is working on this plugin ?

aero
04-22-2013, 11:56 PM
I have tried different themes and deactivated all of the plugins, but these lines are always there

<meta property="og:title" content="" />
<meta property="og:url" content="" />
<meta property="og:image" content="" />

And when checking my page here https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

I get this error

Object Invalid Value: Object at URL 'http://www.truckstop24.no/' of type '' is invalid because the given value '' for property 'og:url' could not be parsed as type 'url'.

I have added the Facebook Admin ID and the Facebook fan page ID and still there are no likes or comments being published on my facebook activity like on the demo you have http://www.socialgalleryplugin.com/

So what else can I check ?

These things dont work:

publish likes
publish comments
the stats on Social Gallery > Image Library

UPDATE:

When I choose Image URL from the fallback settings it will publish to Facebook IF I comment, but not by clicking Like. I cannot see the Facebook settings in the lower right corner.

When I choose Page URL from the fallback settings it will NOT publish either comments or likes. I can see the Facebook settings in the lower right corner.

When I choose Hash Index from the fallback settings it will NOT publish either comments or likes. I can see the Facebook settings icon in the lower right corner.

After some testing and successfully managed to publish comments using the first method with the Image URL I go into the Image Library to see if has recorded my comments, but it has not. The Image Library tells me I have 114 items, but I have in fact more than 400. I try to use the Update Engine, but it says everything is fine and I'm not able to run it again.

I looked up the crawler and did neither find an fb:app_id value nor an fb:admins value. Also it seems to me that you don't have enabled Social Gallery Pages. In order to post something to facebook, I recommend enabling it. Also you seem having the issue, that commenting under one image will post the comment to the whole gallery. Enabling Social Gallery Pages will also fix this I guess.
The debugger does not show any of your described errors to me, just some warnings, but at the moment it doesn't even receive data from the actual url but from /bilder/.
So what I guess you can do now is enabling Social Gallery Pages and go get in your header.php and add the lines
<meta property="fb:app_id" content="yourappid" />
<meta property="fb:admins" content="yourpersonalfacebookid" />

Also og:type should be "article" and not "website".

Thanks, you probably access the site when I removed and re-installed it. I have activated it and Im using the pages too. You can check the site if you like too. When I comment from the pages it sort of works, but not from the lightbox. It seems like these meta tags work on pages, but not in the lightbox. This is taken from the pictures pages

<meta property="fb:admins" content="672864771"/>
<meta property="og:title" content="scania_siemens_electrified_truck.emhuecgumrs4s808w so8s4k8c.a5fuq7lrqzkgc0ccw4ss08gso.th" />
<meta property="og:url" content="http://www.truckstop24.no/social-gallery/scania-siemens-electrified-truckemhuecgumrs4s808wso8s4k8ca5fuq7lrqzkgc0ccw4ss 08gsoth"/>
<meta property="og:image" content="http://www.truckstop24.no/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/scania_siemens_electrified_truck.emhuecgumrs4s808w so8s4k8c.a5fuq7lrqzkgc0ccw4ss08gso.th_.jpeg"/>
<meta property="og:type" content="article"/>
<meta property="og:site_name" content="Truckstop 24"/>

and how can I change the og:type ?

Deepabysm
04-23-2013, 06:26 PM
I think it looks good so far. The og:type is kinda strange, it sometimes seems like it set itself at random or something. However, you can search in your header.php if there is any definition for og:type. If not, try to set it manually by adding the line <meta property="og:type" content="article" /> .
Don't know if that works tho

aero
04-23-2013, 06:35 PM
Okay, I will try that. Even if it looks good now it still doesn't work with Page URL as fallback. With Image URL comments work, but not just likes.

Edit: I clicked like on a picture now and it appers on my facebook activity page, but its not the picture I clicked like on that appears, but the sites logo which appears on all pages. I guess thats the only picture it finds.. I guess the problem is that facebook cannot find pictures from the lightbox

aero
04-23-2013, 06:57 PM
just tested the installation on this site http://epicplugins.com/social-gallery-viewer/

And it seems to have the same problem. Cause when I like or comment neither are being published to Facebook from there.

Deepabysm
04-23-2013, 07:02 PM
The only explanation for that is that you dont have Gallery Pages activated. Fallback only applies on non-found or -scanned pictures. Which Social Gallery Mode are you using?

Deepabysm
04-23-2013, 07:05 PM
And, as I said before, there is no bug in Social Gallery, bbut sometimes the setup is a bit messy. I had your problems before and I've managed to solve them.

aero
04-23-2013, 07:22 PM
Im using Pages URL in the fallback settings and I have the Social Gallery Pages enabled (1) and its still not working like they does on the socialgalleryplugin.com page. I'm using the Nextgen Comp. Mode.

When I use the Image URL in the fallback settings, then it appears on facebook. When I click on it I'm taken back using the direct link to the picture which is not what I want. On the Socialgalleryplugin.com page your being taken back to the pictures page.

Deepabysm
04-23-2013, 08:47 PM
Can you send me a link of one of your pictures on the pages? You find the link to one in the image library site.

also just noticed that some of the picture pages I can access from the library all have the same url which is kind of weird. I have also chosen to have the picture filename as description, but it never shows up in the lightbox.
