View Full Version : Problem with template

Hi, i use the suffusion theme.
The problem is that the access to the social link gallery completely deforms the template.

I asked about it in the support forum of the theme and I have answered the following:

On that page the markup is completely broken. Not only not respect the theme markup and remove "main-col" element and add a second #container ID, but elements which need to stay only in <head> section (javascripts, links to stylesheets, metatags, etc) are moved into the <body> section.

You need to rewrite the php template of plugin to respect the rules of HTML and the markup of theme:

<div id="main-col">
<div id="content">
<div class="post">

That I can do to fix this?
I do not speak English translated by google

Hi lordgault

I've took a look at this myself and you're correct. The template has got messed up (you can see an example here on my site: http://epicplugins.com/social-gallery/screen-shot-2013-03-09-at-220321 ) it needs some changes to the page template.

I'll add it to the fix list as there are a couple of minor bugs / tweaks in v2.2 that we will need to correct. Let me catch up with Woody and get back to you.

It can be fixed manually by editing the template file for the pages in the plugin folder, but you'd need to know what you're doing to do this

The Social Gallery Pages template is not remotely styled like the main site. Is this the same issue as the above poster?

I would try customizing the SG template as per http://www.socialgalleryplugin.com/guide-social-gallery-pages-customisation-custom-page-templates/, but my framework is Ultimatum, which doesn't show the php page templates it generates in FTP or the editor; so I don't know how to call the navigation bar or background, for example. Everything is widgetized and designed through the WP admin.

So right now, my poor social visitors are being directed to a horrible looking page (example:http://cariboucreekloghomes.com/social-gallery/18-7x9) that has nothing to do with the design main website http://cariboucreekloghomes.com. I don't think that will garner additional shares. Any workaround??

I replied to your other post before reading this. SG pages with complex themes like Ultimatum is going to be hard to get right and will need to be edited by sneakier means..

I can see what you mean though, the SG page looks bad but it just looks like it's not finding the CSS file so I'd suggest...

1.) right click and "view source" of the two pages, you'll see there's a TON of CSS files not picked up on the SG page
2.) paste these into the SG page template, at the top of the page.

Here's the ones I could see

Thank you for your replies, mikemayhem3030. I attempted to add the CSS files and all it affected was the font styling. I am trying to play around with adding other bits from the source code. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get it to call/display the menu, footer, background, etc. I would think it needs to call header.php and footer.php, but since these items are generated by the Ultimatum framework (with some random title), I think I'm stuck. Unless you have any other ideas...

What would be your next-best suggestion for our situation: should I change the share url settings to the fallback-url instead of trying to make SG Pages work? I need to "call" this decision now, while the sharing options are new on my site, otherwise if we change over later all our share links will be broken, the record of shares and likes will be lost, and I will have a serious headache to deal with.

I'm beginning to see the downside to having a theme framework like Ultimatum. I guess we can never have our cake and eat it too!

The page should be modifiable as long as you know what your doing with WordPress functions. I can get involved and help you but it would be additional time which I'd have to charge for.

It would also be under "Epic Plugins" rather than Social Gallery. You can check out my website for some of my work :D
