Log into your MYSQL.

Find the SOCIAL GALLERY data.
Look for IMAGES, IMAGELINKS, and POSTUPDATES.

NOTE: DO NOT drop the table. You're screwed if you do that.
Just the data in BROWSE.

Example https://hmonglife.com/images/purge.png

Now go back to SG UPDATE and it should be reset.
Now do a QUICKSCAN. This is the results after. Example https://hmonglife.com/images/purge2.png
Next do a FULL SCAN. Example https://hmonglife.com/images/purge3.png
Scanning FULL SCAN Example https://hmonglife.com/images/purge4.png

This is the results after this FLUSH.
Every Page should be scanned EXCEPT 1. I think the very last 1 page is a bug in SG.
Will tell WOOD to fix this.

Example https://hmonglife.com/images/purge5.png

Notes: Why does this happen? It's not a big bug. It's more a semi WORDPRESS saving, editing, trashing BUG. What happens is that over time you might have moved an image, deleted it, or renamed it and this causes SG to stuck at the point of the changes. Also posts you never finish are kept as trashed or drafts. Even changing access to the image or page can lock SG scan.
Wordpress changes image links and id's without consideration of Plugins databases.

Just Temporary Fix.
Woods will need to rewrite the scan to add detection of Images renames, moved, and deleted. Also to exclude pages that it cannot scan. Just theory. I gotta see the code for myself to know for sure.
Or just have SG automatically CLEAR them out. Also need the last 1 Page bug fixed.

OK, so purge the data from the postupdates table as well?

Thanks, will try that.

It does clears and reset the scanning but once I start it i freezes when doing the full scan.

Please re-download the latest version from CodeCanyon as this should now be fixed. It appears a faulty version of 2.1 was uploaded to CodeCanyon - we have now corrected this and uploaded the correct version 2.1.

Thanks,

Matthew

nope, both suggestions, the latest 2.1 download and the purge doesn't fix the problem:( now stuck at 25 out of 40.

@ captusimago,

Sorry for any inconvenience so far. Version 2.2 of Social Gallery should be available in the next day or so which should address the issue with the image library stalling.

Could you possibly let us know which other plugins you are currently using and possibly provide a link to your site?

Thanks,

Matthew

Thanks for supporting here cybohmoob, in v2.2 (currently in queue to be approved at CodeCanyon) there'll be "admin tools" under settings - these will do the "purging" for you so knowone should need to touch the database. Certainly with everyone having so many mixed plugins it's difficult to diagnose the "scanner getting stuck" - I'll have to rethink the whole model I think for v3.0 later in the year.

Anyhow - really appreciate you all sharing your experiences and helping out here.

Cheers

Yes, I have 2.2 and Full Scan still stuck ...

Quick Scan went through though ...

Maybe the Full Scan should write to a log, so we can see where it gets stuck and investigate or report ... how to do that ? is it shown in "Scan History" ? How to see that ?

Thanks

No problem Woody.
There is never a one POST fix for everyone so if we can help SOME that's better than nothing.
I do however feel bad for making it complicated for those less proficient in MySql. My apologies goes out to those guys.
We'll figure all these simple complications out in due time.

With all kinds of plugins using all kinds of methods to achieve their goals, we got our hands full for sure when things don't work as it should.

Best advice to all is to LIST all their plugins, a photo shot, and site link so we can login and inspect the elements to find out what's spoofing SG. That's the best and easiest way.

Hey Jackryan, Yeah I did have that on the list for 2.2 but there was just so much to fit in! For sure in the next major release I'll rethink the scan methodology and nail this one.

For now - do you have any membership/security/post locking plugins? Anything that's resource greedy or a locked post or similar?

@cybohmoob, yeah - some great words there - thanks again cybohmoob. I am sure that by the time the next version rolls around (much later in the year) - it'll push any outstanding qualms to the side and breed a whole new lot of requests! Still - I am happy with v2.2 now so we just need to work out how people can avoid this sticky post situation - though in fact - it's not a huge issue, Social Gallery will still run fine in all the other cases :)

Hi, Woods,

I don't have any resource-greedy or locked posts .... it has been optimized well.

I also have no problem with Social Gallery being resource-greedy unlike the others, because I have it disabled globally by the plugin Plugin Organizer (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/plugin-organizer/), the best Wordpress plugin for optimization, and only loaded SG in a few posts (2 or 3). It is more like a sample only, as I don't want to use Social Gallery completely since most of my readers access our blog through their mobile phones and ipads. We have many big images, it is necessary, and users cannot enlarge images properly with Social Gallery, unlike Lightbox which is perfect.

In the meantime, it's fine for us to just ignore building the SG Image Library for now I guess, w3TC does a superb job of caching for us anyway. At least SG still works even without building this library.

After I used the Admin Tools to clear the library, it won't even build one now when I try to do a Quick Scan. Anyway, we'll ignore it for now ...
