Hi, recently installed social gallery pro and love the plugin however the individual gallery pages url's are not working properly. The address given in the pages gallery returns a 404. If I delete the /dev/ part of the address however I can load the image. Here are example urls for you to take a look at:

Bad: http://www.anazaosalon.com/dev/social-gallery/bridal-beauty-6
Good: http://www.anazaosalon.com/social-gallery/bridal-beauty-6

As you can see, the removal of the /dev/ folder does the trick. I built my site in a dev folder and then used Worpress' >general settings to resolve the site address to the actual directory. How can I change the url that the social gallery pages uses to a url with /dev/ removed?

If there is another solution please advise.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for posting.

I'm not 100% sure on this one but it sounds like you've created your site in a folder called 'dev' and then just changed the WordPress Address (URL) and/or Site Address (URL). Unfortunately, there is a little more to changing the address/folder of your Wordpress installation than just changing these settings. You can find more information on moving your Wordpress site here:

http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

As I say, I'm not quite 100% sure if this is the issue you are experiencing so I will double check with woods (the plugins author) too.

Thanks,

Matthew

Sorry I didn't outline the Development folder (dev) setup procedure. When I originally created my site i did it with a host that was already housing my old site. Since my domain wasn't changing I needed to create my new site in a way that it wouldn't have visitors until it was ready, Hence dev (common practice). When it came time to go live I used this procedure: http://askwpgirl.com/how-do-i-move-wordpress-from-a-subdirectory-to-the-root-directory/ instead of moving the whole works. It does have steps more involved than just changing the general settings tab ,which have all been done. my site has performed in this way flawlessly for 9 months or so with 40ish active plugins (all of which handle the resolve just fine.) I love the plugin and I'm sure the challenge should be able to be resolved easily as every other plugin I've used handles it just fine. As is stands now if my visitors share a link it just leads all the people that read their FB feed to nowhere. Hopefully since the plugin is a paid version we can get this resolved quickly.

Hi BrianP,

I can see from your images that your images 'href' locations are still pointing to the 'dev' folder. You will need to follow the instructions provided on the Wordpress codex in which I provided beforehand. You will need to follow the instructions to search and replace all database entries with the correct URL. This is covered in the instructions I sent previously (http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress) - Under 'When Your Domain Name or URLs Change'.

Unfortunately, although you have followed some instructions, you have not moved the site correctly as the instructions you followed are not full.

Please follow the instructions on the Wordpress website to move your site successfully. Once you have done this, please let us know if you are still having problems.

Thanks,

Matthew

Got it fixed. Thanks so much to Matthew & Woods for the help. I followed the instructions here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress and used this search and replace tool (http://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/) in the process. Thanks again for the great work and help. :D
