After commenting on a image it gets posted to facebook, but I am wandering how to make the facebook link link back to the Social Gallery Lightbox, at the moment it is just linking to a large image with out the light box. Any ideas warmly welcomed! Thanks.

Hey Jonny

Facebook doesn't allow this I'm afraid. They like you to like a page, not a lightbox. Woodys way of doing it is the same way I do it in Epic Gallery. It brings you back to the page with the image on and is the best way to do it that Facebook allow.

Maybe Woody will dream up a nice way of doing this in a future update... but it's a drawback of the Facebook (or at least I think this is the case)

Thanks for the reply. Shame you cant link to a lightbox. However it seems there is functionality I am missing out on! When I tested the social gallery plugin on the homepage of the plugin http://www.socialgalleryplugin.com/ I made a comment which got sent to Facebook. I then clicked on the link in facebook and it sent me back to http://www.socialgalleryplugin.com/ - this would be fine. Currently the facebook links are going back to a single image not the page of images on my site http://www.cornishphotographer.com/gallery-2/ - how would one do this?

Hi Jonny,

What you need to do for that functionality is to turn off Social Gallery Pages (http://www.socialgalleryplugin.com/social-gallery-pages/) and then set "Fallback URL" to "Page URL" - that way the likes + comments will get attributed to the post/page which contains them!

Hope that helps :)

@Mike, as ever thanks for the help here!

This really sucks. It kills the ability of people to comment on photos because even if gets to Facebook, it doesn't go any further than this. I'm currently using Justified Image Grid and Nextgen gallery for managing photos. Is there any way a photo can be also shown on Facebook so that comments and social activity can continue?

Hi Mayurj,

Firstly please can you keep your new questions to new threads - so we can make it easier for other users to find answers to their specific questions.

Secondly this was never the aim of Social Gallery - to post images to facebook - there are many plugins that automate posting to facebook or to post to facebook pages, but Social Gallery is about creating a strong social lightbox, which it does well. In fact the function where users can comment together on an image exists through the use of Social Gallery Pages (http://www.socialgalleryplugin.com/social-gallery-pages/) - so the social activity continues there.
